First Scrimmages a Succes.

Over the past two weeks the Varsity and JV Football teams have been working extremely hard to prepare for the 2009 season. The results of that hard work were on display this past week on Tuesday night and Saturday afternoon.
On Tuesday, August 25th, the Varsity and JV teams held their second-annual Navy-White Intrasquad Scrimmage. Not only did both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball make many plays, but special teams was on display as well, as both squads went through all of their "special forces" units and groups leading up to the scrimmage action. There were about 200 people in attendance as well, showing you that the Panthers are very well supported.
Then, on Saturday, August 29th, the Panthers officially opened their 2009 campaign with a Three-Team Scrimmage at Washingtonville High School. Joining the Panthers and Wizards on the field were the Tigers of Kingston. Again, this was an opportunity for Wallkill Football to display the payoff from its hard work during training camp. We got a lot of good work in on offense, defense, and in the kicking game, and made some big plays all over the football field. Parents, Families, and Friends once again turned out in large numbers to support the team, showing how much support the program truly does have.
We thank all of you who continue to follow the Panthers, and support our student-athletes who are a part of what we believe is something special. Now it's back to work as the Panthers prepare for their first regular-season game against neighboring rival Valley Central in the "Battle of the Valley" for the Helmet Trophy! Please continue to come out and support us on Friday afternoon (JV @ Home at 4:00 PM) and evening (Varsity @ VC at 7:00 PM).
