The top 10 students of the class of 2006 were announced today during the school day. Two players from this years varsity squad were in the top ten percent. Mike Fowler who played defensive back for the Panthers this past season finished 5th in his class with a 96.2856 average. Ben Baker who played on the offensive line finshed second in his class with a 97.5348 average.
What is even more impressive about the accomplishments of these two student-athletes is that they did it while being totally dedicated to their respective teams as well.
Ben has been a three-sport athlete, competing in football, indoor track, and outdoor track. He has also worked very hard in our strength and conditioning program. Ben has set a great example for all of our athletes, showing that you can compete and be totally dedicated to your team and sport, and stay on top of your academics as well. He will be attending Wheaton College in Illinois in the fall.
Mike Fowler has been a two-sport athlete, competing in lacrosse, football this past year, and on the golf team in the previous two years. He has also been a dedicated participant in our BFS strength and conditioning program for the past four years. He did a great job this past season despite having only having played football for one year. Mike will be attending Marist College in the fall.
We are very proud of both of these fine young men's accomplishments thus far.
