This past Saturday, we concluded our 2007 three-day mini-camp with a Navy/White competition. The Navy team defeated the White team by a score of 88 to 53. The day consisted of dividing up participants of the camp into two groups. A draft was held the night before and the team was chosen by the team’s respective coaches.
The next day we started with two competitions going on consecutively. The backs, receivers, linebackers, and defensive backs competed in a 7 on 7 passing competition, while the offensive and defensive lineman competed in what has become known as a “Lineman Challenge.” The lineman challenge consisted on the following: Bench Press Competition, Tire Flip, Farmer’s Walk, Tug of War, Five Man Sled Push, and a Three-Cone Agility Drill.
Following this competition, we brought all team members together to compete in a Flag Football game. This game was won by the Navy team by a score of 28-21. Both teams competed hard and had a great deal of fun. It was good to see our guys in a football competitive mode.
The day and camp was concluded with a BBQ under the pavilion. We would like to thank Joe Croce for supplying the hot dogs and hamburger, as well as cooking up everything to perfection. The coaching staff worked very hard to provide a quality camp for both the older and younger kids, and we are all very appreciative for their dedication and sacrifices to our program.
