Two of our most dedicated senior football players have recently made their college choices.
R. J. Ponesse, a four-year football player, and two-year starter at offensive tackle has decided to attend Plattsburgh State University. At Plattsburgh, he will major in secondary education and will also play for the basketball team. He was a very dedicated player in the weight room and set a great example for others to follow. R. J. through hard hard work, took his 6"8 frame and developed himself into a fine athlete. He was also a very unselfish player, who made the change from tight end to offensive tackle, and did so without complaining to the coaches. This unslefishness is less and less common with today's modern day athletes.
Eric Hamilton, also a four-year program football players, was arguably one of the most dedicated players we have had at Wallkill. He will be attending Penn State-Schuylkill in the fall, where he will be majoring in Human Development. He was a two-time winner of the Blue Collar Award, an award given out to the hardest working (off & in-season) player in the program. Eric was an extremely team oriented player who epitomizes what Panther Football and Panther Pride is all about.
We wish all the best to these two players who will be greatly missed.
