Wallkill Sets Section Record with Six on All-State

SYRACUSE - Led by Wallkill's six players, Section Nine placed 12 players on the All-State Classes AA and A teams. The All-Stars were chosen by members of the New York State Sportswriters Association.
In Class AA two Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders are named to the Third Team Offense: OL Peter Scalia and QB Matt Stack, an All-Stater for the second consecutive season. Named to the AA Fourth Team Offense is Newburgh junior RB Jihad Morris.
The Class AA Player of the Year is state champion Syracuse CBA QB Greg Paulus.
In Class A a trio of our boys are named to the First Team: LB Trevor Pedrick of Wallkill, OT Chris Conklin of Port Jervis, and K Adolfo Rivera of Wallkill. Pedrick, like Stack, was also an all-stater in 2003.
The Class A Second Team includes Wallkill OL Sean Connors and teammate RB J. J. Maloney.
The Class A Third Team features OL P. J. Colombo of Wallkill along with Panther TE Rob Gomez, a junior. The offensive backfield includes Port Jervis RB John Foley and Cornwall QB Kyle Auffray.
The Class A Player of the Year is Maine-Endwell QB Shane Connolly whom many of us remember very well.
Wallkill's six All-Staters represent the most such honorees from one Section Nine team in a single season.
